Pilates Instructor & Creative Movement Educator
I am Felicia. I am a SoCal-based Pilates instructor who is fascinated by the way bodies move. As a lifelong dancer and athlete, I have always had a natural curiosity about how our bodies move. Now, I share what I have learned with others.
I help people to move better. What that means for me is cultivating Pilates sessions designed to help you move with ease, efficiency, and elegance. I promote the healing transformation of bodies so that you can do what you love without pain, discomfort, or strain. The movement practices that I facilitate are nourishing to the body, challenging to the mind, fun, and always full of joy.
When I discovered Pilates in 2008, I had extreme discomfort in my back muscles while doing the thing I loved the most, dancing. Having to sit out from dance classes, rehearsals, and performances was devastating. Within a few weeks of a consistent Pilates practice, I quickly recovered from my injury. Surprisingly, I gained strength and stamina greater than I had ever had before. My mental awareness also shifted during this time, and I had such amazing command over my body.
It was the first time that I knew what it meant to “feel good”. There were no aches, no pains, and no discomfort. I felt free! I found myself constantly talking about the benefits of Pilates with anyone who was willing to listen.
After a year of consistent and nourishing Pilates practice, my body completely transformed.
In 2011, I became a certified Pilates instructor and it has brought me more joy than I could have ever imagined. What I love the most about teaching Pilates is that anyone can do it. No matter the age, body type, or fitness level Pilates has something for you. My experience includes working with people from all walks of life including physicians, musicians, retired teachers, corporate attorneys, small business owners and stay-at-home parents. I also enjoy working with peri/post-natal clients, athletes, seniors, and those with chronic pain and injuries. As your instructor, I will look at your body holistically and address any issues that may be holding you back from fulfilling your greatest movement potential.
One of my greatest joys is witnessing the transformation that takes place as the result of a nourishing and intentional movement practice. Whether your goal is to gain strength, improve mobility, have better posture or increase coordination, I am here for you. If your goal is to release stress, boost your mood, or get a spark of inspiration through a creative movement experience, we can do that, too!
